This trek will start with at least one day in Kathmandu. Your first sight of the Himalaya when flying into Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, is an unforgettable experience. On arrival you should proceed through Customs / Immigration as individuals. It is not necessary to wait and come through as a group. Once you have passed through Immigration, please proceed directly to the Customs Officers and collect your baggage. Once cleared, proceed through the two sets of doors to where one or our staff members will assist us to a car that will eventually take us to our hotel.
Airport porters are usually very quick to pick up your bags and head through the doors. There are many children eager to earn money from unsuspecting tourists by helping you with bags. They will then insist on being tipped in any currency and may even sit on your bags until you pay up. Our staff will assist, however, we recommend that you DO NOT pay any tips and do not give your bags to children, even if they say they work for our folks in Nepal.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we will have a short briefing on preparations for our trek and the program for the next few days. Have your photographs available at the meeting so that the Peak Promotions folks can help get the appropriate trekking permit arranged. Bring international air tickets for collection, as the Peak Promotions staff will arrange reconfirmation of our onward flights.

Information will likely be distributed on Kathmandu. Sightseeing programs are possible the afternoon of, and the day after our return from the trek. Your free time in Kathmandu will normally be spent sightseeing, shopping for great bargains and getting organized for the trek. Your day/s in Kathmandu after your trek will be free for sightseeing and shopping.

You also may like to consider a Mountain Flight or Hot Air Ballooning or Rafting in the Kathmandu Valley for one of the days in Kathmandu. If we don’t already plan to do so, we recommended that you hire a taxi and visit areas such as Bhaktapur, Swayambunath and Patan.

On the morning of your departure for trekking, please ensure that you have deposited your valuables with our hotel staff and obtained a receipt. This receipt must be kept in order to retrieve your valuables when you return to Kathmandu. Before breakfast, you should bring all your baggage down to the hotel lobby where it will be divided into 2 piles - one for trekking and the other for safe storage at the hotel. All bags MUST be clearly labeled with your name and should be locked.
