Traveling to Nepal will require at least two (if not three!) long haul flights. Our medical adviser suggests the following to keep healthy while you travel.

. While seated, do some calf exercises by raising your heels off the floor (sets of 20) at least every 15 minutes while awake.
. Take a walk every three hours if not asleep and also when in transit.
. Drink plenty of nonalcoholic drinks and avoid alcohol.
. Try not to eat too much before or during the flight.
. If you smoke or are on the oral contraceptive pill, ask your doctor about taking a few days of aspirin to cover the flight.
