Visas
All nationalities require a visa for Nepal. All visiting tourists must apply for a 50-day visa in advance or $30 at the airport on arrival in Kathmandu. It is possible that you organize your visa before departure to eliminate the fuss of applying for the visa on arrival. It is possible to apply for a single re-entry visa on arrival in Kathmandu at a cost of $55.

Should you be queried at Kathmandu airport about exchanging foreign currency on arrival, please tell officials that you are on a prepaid tour and show documentation if necessary.

Note ~ If you are planning to stay on in Nepal and need to extend your visa you will need an extra 2 passport photos.

Passport Photos
As regulations change frequently in Nepal, it is strongly advised to bring 2 - 3 spare passport photos with you, in case more than the specified number is required.

Travel Insurance
It is strongly suggested that you take out a personal insurance policy to cover you against sickness, accident, lost baggage, cancellation and in the unlikely event that you need emergency evacuation by plane or helicopter due to illness or accident.

You should insure immediately after you have paid your deposit. The cost is the same whenever you take it, but the coverage starts when it is issued.

Passport Validity
Some countries insist your passport is valid for 6 months from your departure from that country. We recommend you ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your return.
